Stages in the life of modellers
Posted by nkm1416@info.com.ph on Thursday, October 6, 2005 11:08 PM
Young age
has energy to build models
has time to build models
has no money to buy models

Middle age
has energy
has money
no time

Old age
has time
has money
no energy

This is an old one. I just substituted 'modeler' to see if it'll fit. What do you think guys and gals?

I'm nearing the "middle age" group and I'm noticing the switch from time to money.
When I was a student, I had loads of time but not that much money.
I have started working and money is no problem any more but time is becoming an problem.

I guess I'm a 43 year old "youngster" because I have the time and have the energy, but living on a fixed retirement income, I have very little "extra" money.

I'm not so sure it's no energy as much as there are too darned many things that need to be done around here - currently tearing out and fixing some windows because they've been painted shut and we've never been able to open them - various and sundry "honey dews" since we're home owners again - still working full time - need to find the time to read David Weber's latest installment in his Honor Harrington series which I got last nigt - plus his latest installment of his Prince Roger series is due out in paperback sometime in the next month or so - and my modeling area really, really needs cleaning and rearranging - the list goes on ad nauseum - may just say to hell with it and go fishing. And of course, there's the time I spend on this infernal machine.

I probably don't qualify for the old age yet, but I concur wiith the no energy. Maybe when I'm retired someday, I'll be more motivated.

I'm in stage two:
No time due to full time career, remodeling a house, and young family.
No money due to the last two reason in the above line.
No energy, again see line one.
