Plain old Krylon white for me when shooting acrylics on a dull painted AC... cheap and doe the job! I tried the Testors grey stuff and wasn't real impressed, it might have been a bad can but I was already using the Krylon so stuck with it...

I like testors, but auto primer works just as good and it's cheaper.

Krylon Fusion is outstanding when you have a plastic substrate. Masking tape will almost never peel it up.

I only use Floquil grey primer ( enamel) on plastic models. On metal figures, I use Citadel white primer (acrylic).

The Games-Workshop primer comes in large can and you can paint on it within an hour of spraying too.It sands really well to but don't be surprised if it turns out a little grainy thats the way it's supposed to.

It might be a wee bit on the expensive side since Games-Workshop has recently jacked up their prices a bit.

I recently tried the new lacquer primer by Testors. It works great, sands really smooth, and it is white.

35 years of marriage have turned me into a cheapskate so I go the automotive primer route. Besides, it's a 5 minute walk to the auto supply store vs. a 2 hr round trip to the hobby shop. And besides, if I go the the LHS, I'll end up and buy something else that I hadn't planned on.

I prefer Tamiya (FINE surface primer), but have heard good things about Floquil. Also, I didn't realize that Citadel/Games Workshop made a primer but I'll give it a try since I love their acrylics.
