Something here is pleasantly different......
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, October 13, 2005 7:37 AM
I am a new member to Finescale's forum and something here is pleasantly different.

As a car builder I joined the Scale Auto forum a month or so ago and I have noticed in the posts that most of the member are a bit younger than myself. A few the members have a way of showing their adolescents in their posts. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the community but, a number of individuals seem to bring the level of discussions down a notch or two. I've been modeling off and on for over 30 years and I don't claim to be the most skilled builder or have a vast knowledge of all things plastic but, what I do have is, respect for my fellow modelers and their talents. Thanks for your time and comments.

If you go over to odds and ends, you will see the same poll running.

I may get so drunk, I have to crawl home. But dammit, I'll crawl like a Marine.

It doesn't suprise me that no 18-21's have voted, we know they're up to no good. LOL

I'm 45, and been modeling on and off ,mostly on , for 30+ years. I enjoy ALL things plastic. lately though I've found myself longing to get back to my roots. I think kits of today, the standards of quality are extrordinary, and so is the price tag. That may be a deterent for the yonger crowd. So I've been spending the last year or so, just searching for and hopefully acquiring old/vintage/out of production kits that I remember as a kid. Now if I only have enough time to build them all over again. There's always retirement.
