Ship builders, rejoice, your tools DO have other uses

When you build model ships, especially in the 1/700 range, you tend to collect a lot of tiny tools - drill bits, micro-tweezers, glue applicators, etc. and I sometimes found myself wondering what else it was good for.

Now that I am deep into my first airplane in like 40 years, a 1/72 B-25, I was moderately overjoyed to discover that all the odd bits of strip and rod styrene can be used, the No. 80 drill bit was just the thing to add holes for the throttle levers, etc., in the control console, and my ultri-fine paintbrushes do yoeman work at cleaning up my many painting screwups. Gave me a warm feeling on an otherwise rainy, nasty day! Big Smile [:D]

Other members in my family will concure with your post. I have found my clippers, tweezers, scissors, sanding boards, files, blades, assortment of glues, detail brushes, and pin vises in just about every room of the house BUT my model room. Whenever one of the girls in my house goes up to my workbench, their eyes scan the contents, then they take photographic mental pictures, and then make a mental inventory what I have, then when they decide to have a manicure party, my hobby bench gets raided.

For us modelers, tool diversity can be a good thing, yet it can haunt us too.
