I have to agree I will only build if Im in the mood and am excited about tackling that project.  this explans why I build 3 or 4 at a time and well A.D.D., or maybe lack of discipline :P  Anyway arent artists a fickle bunch anway?

Thanks for the encouragement. That Montana conversion probably won't be for another few years at the rate I work, but it's something I look forward to with great anticipation.

I'm about halfway done with the MiG. Fuselage is assembled, most of the painting is done.

Well, just take it one build at a time. It is amazing how much you can get done when you actually get a chance to sit down and work on a project, and if your like me, you have to be in that "mood" do actually sit down and concentrate. I find when I am though, I can kick some butt, but if I'm not, I can't keep myself from walking away to get on here or to watch TV... To many distractions, oh well, it keeps me from getting frustrated! Good luck Martacus!

Martacus: I share your vision of converting the NEW JERSEY kit to MISSOURI.. Not an extensive job, as you know, but fun. My idea is to someday have a display as she appeared on commissioning day 1944 and re-commissioning day 1986. What moved me to write was your idea of converting the MISSOURI kit to a MONTANA class. Wow! I hope you'll take some pictures and let us see your progress. That will be an awesome model. Cheers.

Wow, that's a mouthful. I have many many grandoise plans, which will realistically take me many years to realize, so no point listing them all.

Well, I've got a bunch of kits sitting around waiting to be built, so here's what I plan on doing with them:

Academy 1/48 MiG 21--currently in-progress, doing the "all-metal" build from that "how to use an airbrush" book. I've got the cockpit completed so far, but not installed into the fuselage yet.

Hasegawa YF-19, VF-1S--These valkyries are going to be box builds. Still not sure how to get that off-white color on the -19 with MM enamels.

Hasegawa 1/48 F8-E Crusader--Another box build, but with custom decals. Going for Shin Kazama's plane from "Area 88".

Bandai 1/100 Gundam RX-78-2--partially completed some time ago; I'l lbe stripping my old hand-painted job and finishing it with a custom scheme.

Revell 1/48 P-38J Lightning--I'll use this to get some practice modifying flawed models and parts, including scribing panel lines.

Testors 1/48 SR-71 Blackbird--More of the same; working on a flawed model of a subject I love.

Dragon 1/35 King Tiger--Mostly out of box, but I'll try my hand at some diorama building; armor seems to work best for this type of thing.

Revell 1/48 B1-B Lancer--I'll be using aftermarket parts to make the kit more accurate.

Italieri 1/48 F5-E Tiger II--Will convert this model to an F-20 Tigershark, also with custom colors and decals for the "Area 88" plane.

Tamiya 1/350 USS New Jersey--What I really want to do here is a modernized Missouri, but they are more or less the same ship and the Tamiya Missouri isn't modernized; I've got a kit of each and have other plans for the Missouri kit. But I'll use the Missouri's decals for this, and get some experience with photoetched parts.

Tamiya 1/350 USS Missouri--The big one for me; I'm going to convert the kit into the USS Montana, which was never built in real life, but almost was. I've seen line drawings for it, so I think it will be doable. Will build it as a WWII-era ship, with a camouflage scheme. I imagine I'll have to scratchbuild a number of parts, go aftermarket for others, and some photoetch parts.

So anyways, what do you people out there think of my modeling plans?
