Pricing Info wanted!

Its really hard to say, most of the time when you buy the kit you are paying for the engineering (of course there is more to the cost than that...) and most people would be willing to pay the price to build it, but I'm not sure that people would be willing to pay more than that for a finished model. You might try checking out the wanted ads in the back of FSM, there are usually people on there wanting to buy kits, built or unbuilt.

Any specific subjects? 

I do know that well painted Warhammer figures can sell very well.  It's popular and people have the money but sometimes neither the time, skill, or desire to paint them.  They would rather pay for finished figures and play.  From what I've heard, the same holds true for other types of miniatures too.

If you're not going to sell on eBay, it may still be worthwhile to check completed auctions to get an idea what some of the finished models are going for and adjust based upon quality comparison.  A positive with using eBay is that the selling price is determined by the buyers -- it's up to the buyer how much they're willing to pay for it.  The positive with your website and modeling forums is that people there will most likely appreciate the time and effort that went into finishing it.

I'm wondering if sci-fi and fantasy models do better than other subjects on eBay.

The Items will cover a whole gamut of subjects(50+items). I have been turned of eBay due to bad experiences as both buyer and seller. But will check their finished acution prices for ideas. Some of the items going on the block are pricey as I paid Euro200+ for some of them

I am aware of that, that's why I am personally leaning towards a 130~150% margin.

I have seen published dio sell for less than half the cost of kits and single figures for as much as 8times the kit price.

From what I have seen it is just finding the right person with the right thing in hand. I have sold quite a few finished builds on ebay and while I saw others go for less than the kit price, mine finished at three times the amount. I have yet to figure it out really. If you find the person that is looking for what you have, that helps  out too, sold one yesterday for a good amount to someone just because he always like the looks of the dragon wagon.  I always hate seeing them go but it has helped out in a bind plus keeps my wife from bugging me to much about not building anymore cause i dont have the room for them.

Honestly need the space as the wife keeps bugging me about getting rid of "unsightly" kits that she doesn't want the visitors to see. OTOH, she is happy displaying some other kits. (scratches head)

It sounds like she needs to get into IPMS judging! She sounds like she would be a natural Your lucky, my fiance just hates all mine. I think she would have a hay day if I ever decided to throw them all away J/K, shes not really that bad, she would just enjoy the day!

you do have a good chance of selling them but i think the gruop of people that would buy them is fairly small what i mean is most (not all) would rather build them for themselves

me  if i bought someone elses work people would know because it would look better than what i do

If you can't get a price you like you can always donate them to a VFW post or National Guard Armory.

I can't tell you what built ups will sell for, I can tell about what I charge for custom builds though. Standard price is 10 times the retail cost of the kit and aftermarket items used for aircraft and armor. Ships I charge by class, paint scheme and extras (opened and lit hangar bay, etc.).
