The title should be edited, though.  It asks about profession, nothing about paints.

One can only assume that the OP was asking "what's your preference?"  Perhaps spelling wasn't his strong suit?

I prefer acyrlics.

Is this thread locked? No? Then we should be able comment if we want to, without worry from forum bullies.

Also, I prefer using the appropriate forums. If we posted all questions in the general modeling forum, the other forums would die, and we'd have a zillion posts to weed through every day.

Its funny how some threads just die off real quick. I'm thinking that when this guy posted in 2003, he didnt get a single reply ? I must admit that over the years, I've got a little peeved when I thought one of my posts didnt generate the interest I thought it deserved. I would have to say though, that Stik is one of the true gentlemen here, and way off being a bully.

There is no bullying going on here. This thread was dead for over a decade. If somebody wanted to, they could re activate any of the numerous far more recent threads on this same subject. New ones seem to start every other month or so around here, so it's not like it is some forgotten subject. MM66 is intentionally bringing up very old threads just for the reason of knowing the reaction it causes. Seriously, welcoming somebody to the forum 13 years after the fact?

I'm torn between enamels and acrylics.

For some unknown reason I always get smoother, nicer finishes (on exterior aircraft surfaces) with  spraying enamels but acrylics are quicker and easier to clean up, so I use acrylics on the interior surfaces. For dry brushing ,enamels are my go to stuff, specifically Testor's flat steel color for chipping and wear points.  Plasticjunkie uses enamels almost exclusively and his work is second to none.

Use to always be a basic testors enamel guy, but I have grown very fond of Tamiya Acrylics over the last couple of years.

I still use Model Master enamels for brush work, but for base coats and large work I've gravitated towards acrylics because of their fast drying times and lack of odor.
