dropping my subscription??
Posted by benchman on Sunday, January 29, 2006 10:03 PM

Psssst.............Hey buddy.........My subscription renewal to FSM is coming up. I've gotten this magazine for several years (and I mean several!!)

I'm finding that I get a lot more information from this forum then I do from the magazine. If I drop my subscription, will I still have access to the forum or will I be banished!

Hey! It's an honest question.......and you gotta admire my guts

I'll be curious to see if this gets posted or will the powers that be intercept this communication and then send me a nasty note!!

Just curious:)

Banishment!

No, really you only have to be registered to be on the forums. What you won't get is access to the online articles and workbench reviews and the like. You either have to be a subscriber or a newstand buyer. There is a code you can find inside the magazine that will unlock access month to month.

So long folks!

BUT... the magazine  provides more often than not the info in one article  plus pics nicely compacted for simple ref.

on this forum more often than not you have to track thru 3-4-or 5 section of the forum or you have to ask get answers ask again etc  it Could take  days to get the info you want when it is right in front you in the mag.

much more time consuming

and if you have a dial up modem you have to tie up your phone line for long time when the magazine is at your fingertips

and the reviews and the new products etcSoapBox [soapbox]

don't cancelMy 2 cents [2c]

To the guillotine with you! Like the others, you are free to do what you wish, but I feel you'll miss it. I had a subscription in the early 90's and cancelled, only to renew about 6 years ago, and am glad I did. I enjoy other's works immensily. The forum leaves you wanting more sometimes.

I always look forward to the magazine arriving in the mail, then the countless hours pouring over each article, studying the pictures in the gallery, re-reading the latest tips and tricks, and the monthly reviews.  There is no way I'll ever cancel my subscription, I enjoy the magazine way too much.  :)

I just got the March 2006 FSM with the King Tiger build. Now I want to drop the Stug I'm building and start on my King Tiger ( that I got at hobby lobby for 1/2 price).

I guess I won't cancel my subscription. Mainly because for the last couple of days I've noticed a van parked across the street with dark tinted windows.......THEY'RE WATCHING ME!

later............

Okay, which King Tiger? Funny how seeing another persons build can motivate one to build a kit of ones own. Good luck to you.
