A good idea, if stores are willing to participate. I do have a Warhammer army on display at a local hobby shop (close to 100 miniatures) and have gotten many questions about it, as well as "OOOOOHs and AAAAAHs."

i may have to check out the local Hobby Lobby to see if they're willing to set up a display case. Only model store in town, you know.

As a model builder we spend hours and hours on one model. When it's done we can say well done, or boy why did I do that. To the kid that is looking to find out what model building is all about we need to show the models.
A new hobby store open in my home town. During one visit I ask if I could bring down some models and display them. I think every hobby store should have models the have been built in the store. All kinds of models should be on display. Any one that walks into store should be in awe of the model building skills from hometown builders.
One other idea I did this past year was display my work and student work at the local library. The show was up for over a month. It worked out that I picked up one student out of the deal. This show was fun because I had one student work on a model from start to finish during the show. I would go into the library and just watch kids look at the models. the kids would talk about the models to the parents.Next year I plan to show my vintage monster Aurora kits. I think a Halloween display whould so COOL.
If you have that one model that is not your gem, then let it be seen. Lets show the models so that others can enjoy what we enjoy everyday.
