Thanks, bilbirk. I didn't get my Sunday paper, so I didn't know.

I ended up getting the 1/32 Trumpeter F4U-1D Monday for $22.81 The lady at the check out took the 1/3 off and then took off 40%! Yes, I asked to be sure that was okie-dokie, she insisted! She actually said that they have been selling A LOT more kits lately. Looking good for the hobby! Anyways, I went looking for the 1/32 Acad Hornet and you know what I found? 4 1/32 Revell F-14A's. Maybe I am slow but it seems like this kit is making a resurgence on the market? Whatta day...

Next Up: 1/35 Tamiya Merkava 1/48 Tamiya King Tiger 1/35 Dragon M1A1 AIM

My hobby lobby has a couple of those F-14's. I don't know what the other stores do, but around here they all carry just about the same stock in kits and tools. I mean, I have been going there for awile now, and they don't change the stock, its the same kits. I bought my Academy 1/32 Hornet from them, and a few weeks later, there was another one up there? I guess I am to used to the LHS?

god everytime I look at these posts i feel sorry that i live in jersey.  I bought two Tamiya 1/12 bikes which I thought were good deals at like 17 bucks shipped to the door since most online prices are at least 25+.  Then they arrived and I saw the hobbylobby tag for 12.99 on each kit...

-=Ryan=- Too many kits... so little free time. MadDocWorks

Well, just to rub salt in your wounds, I bought a couple Tamiya 1/12 bike kits at hobby lobby on clearance for $5 a piece Big Smile [:D] but like I said, they have the same stock, and they don't really stock new stuff, just reorder the same old stuff. Ohwell, Its better than nothing... sorry, I didn't mean it like that ArchAngel!

Had something similar to me happen with the combo of the 1/3 off and 50% off coupon a few weeks back- I asked them if they were sure they wanted to give me all that off- she said "Sure, you're in here all the time buying models." She added them together, too- 80% discount. Got that on the Tamiya P-47D Razorback- which was priced at about $45! Got that thing for less than $10, even with tax.....

Went back the next day, but it was a different cashier who seemed to not really give a flip about anything one way or the other. So I only got the 50% off. Wink [;)]

I actually felt bad about it- I don't want them to stop carrying models when they see they have no profit margin on them! LOL
