Model kit reviews on the net!
Posted by Yann Solo on Wednesday, June 21, 2006 12:27 PM

Anybody knows good reference sites for model kit reviews?

For aircrafts and armors, I know :

perthmilitarymodelling dot com

cybermodeler dot com

kitreview dot com

What is your favorite site for kit reviews?

No matter where you go ....... there you are.

This is one of my favorites aircraft kit review sites  http://modelingmadness.com/index.htm

I like this one for decal reviews:  http://decals.kitreview.com/reviewsdecals_1.htm

And here is a decent armor review site:  http://www.armorama.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Reviews&file=index

Scott Van Aken's site is great, and not limited to aircraft. He has a whole bunch of armor, auto, ship, sci-fi, figures, decals as well as previews.

So long folks!

D'oh! Yeah, we should remember our host's also offer a kit review section here on the forums.

I do note though that Modeling Madness offers slightly more content without restriction on requiring a code or subscription to a magazine. Also their reviews typically have more than one photo, usually shows the box art and layout of the sprues, and also a fair bit of history. I'm a faithful subscriber, who reads each of FSM's articles and kit reviews (perhaps "overview" is more pertinent?), but when I want an in depth review I do check out Hyperscale and Modeling Madness, as well!

So long folks!

www.aircraftresourcecenter.com is a good site for aircraft (duh!), the nice thing about that site that it features models from modellers all over the world including asia and south america. It's nice to see the the hobby is so international. The quality of the models on the site varies widely from award winning to absolute beginners.

Hyperscale has a review section, plus a lot of kit reviews within the forum and article sections.

I think they are all good and it doesn't hurt to have too many resources.

That was the goal of my question, having more ressources.
