Hi, I've seen this thread sitting here for a while and thought I'd throw in some info.

Download Google Earth, it's free and a great piece of software.  Simply move the globe over the city/county where you will be staying and type in "hobby store" in the top left hand search box.  That's how I found a dozen plus hobby-related stores in the Dallas area.  You could also go to google maps and do the same thing, you'll get the same result but you won't have to download google earth.

Happy hunting!

Static styrene/resin plastic models of military or civilian autos/trains? Or resin SciFi/Japan figures? Or either and both?

Then:

San Francisco -
' Franciscan Hobbies ' on Ocean Ave. for Styrene, RC, and trains. Including books and supplies. Great shop, original father to son ownership of old school San Franciscans.

' Heroes Club ' - http://www.artoftoy.com - on Clement in the Richmond District. Sci-Fi / Japan resin figures. Lots of finished models on display.

' HobbyTown ' on Geary.

MUST NOT MISS - ' Musee Mecanique '
Fantastic museum arcade of mechanically operated musical instruments and antique arcade machines located at Fisherman's Wharf. Fully operational coin-op dioramas and vinettes.

also BAY MODEL in Sausalito, just north over the Golden Gate Bridge. An operational engineering scale study model of the SF/Oakland Bay. Open to the public. Check which days when you're there.

VEGAS:
They have a ' HobbyTown ' on, I think, Sahara. Also a lot of RC and slot car places there too.

- LA and South Town, I never go there.

Anyone with a good car don't need to be justified - Hazel Motes
