Some companies will anounce when they are starting a new model to create some hype, others when they are ready to release one. Tamiya only announces when a kit is ready to be sold. Trumpeter is opposite. They are working on the projects, but delays in mold making or other factors set the time frames off a bit. Think of the hype there is for trumpeters F-100 in 32 scale right now. It's been annouced for over a year. Other smaller companies may never release what they announce. I thought that Academy was never going to release their 32 hornet. It was on their release list for almost five years. Same with Hobbycraft and the P-59. The big names are ok for time, but the way they release their kits may be the what you see as the problem
Take this plastic and model it!

Sign - Ditto [#ditto] I have been waiting forever and a day for the Trumpeter Intruder to come out and it hasn't happened! I don't understand why they do that, people will make a lot of hype at first, but if they don't get it out on the shelves, people forget or decide they don't want it anymore. They need to work more towards the impulse shopper... like me Big Smile [:D]

Dragon announces their armor way in advance and they still have stuff that hasn't been released in 2 years now. On the flip side some of their armor is released without any warning.

Tamiya seems to be doing good with their armor releases. They are coming out exactly whe they say they are unlike lots of dragon stuff like eric said, that has been announced for 2 years.

Trumpeter is also doing pretty good on releasing everything on time.

AFV club has been late on almost all of their releases, sometimes by alot.

Blindfold [X-)]Blindfold [X-)]Blindfold [X-)]cough AMTech cough

Seriously AMTech has to be the worse in my book, I have been waiting on the XP-40Q, B-52H, and the P-61 series forever.  The best has to be Dragon and Tamiya.
