Most frustrating seams
Posted by MortarMagnet on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 1:13 AM
I was wondering what everyone thinks the most difficult/tedious/pain in the butt seam to fill is.  Any genre is elible.

For me, I'd have to go with the leading edge of a wing.  My Revell P-47D ended up with a pair of these needing filled and it's proving to be very tedious trying to fill and keep the shape on the whole edge.

For me it has to be the upper wing surface to wing root.  I hate sanding that spot.

I agree, seems just completely suck and sometimes, to the point where it takes some of the fun out of modeling.

The key is to sand as little as possible. This is where the alcohol and rag come in handy.

I have to agree that seams are a pain in the Censored [censored].  Most of all the seams that I have come across came from older monogram kits.

Hadn't thought of drinkin' to alleviate the problem. 'Fraid to ask about the other....

Wing root, definetely. And any place with raised detail. And the horizontal stabilizers.

Working on a Revell P-40B right now that has all of it in huge doses......

The rag is used to muffle the screams. That is, until the alcohol kicks in and the screams turn into giggles of despair.
