I used to build AC, then switched to armour. I have no two builds of the same type of vehicle, and the ones I was planing on, I took the old models and scrapped them for spare parts.

I can play this game!

I only started building a year ago, and I still have all my models. Here is a pic of 2 A-4's I've done. The dark one I did one year ago, and the light one I recently finished (first attempt at pre-shading). In the final pic is the F-4 that I just finished (that I'm super proud of). The A-1 is about in the middle, before I discovered "Future". I can see a definite progression of my models in terms of quality since I started.

Reading this thread got me looking around the house and..... I built my first model, a Revell KI-61 when I was 5or 6...... 1962ish, Ihave out on shelves around the house the old testors Spirit of St. Louis, the XF-92 and Dauntlell and T-6 all from the 60's. I have the Hasa F-106, a revell DR-1and Spitfire from early 70's (highschool years) and a few othersfrom recently. I still have in storage the first issue Hasa  AH-64 a Tamaya Sgt york (I built while in the Army) and a bunch of jeeps of various scales. I see not only how I have improved but how the model companies improved over the years as well. I'd still like to see lower prices  but that won't happen  Those are just some off the top of my haed as I sit here but I'm happy with every one......Good Hunting, G.W.

|Me too. I started around 8 (I'm 16 now), and I wish I could post some pics- but my photobucket is retarded and won't let me upload anything!. But, as an example, I've got two 1:48 B-17Fs, one was my 1st "Glue together" model, and the other which is now a WIP. The first one is set on my shelf near my modeling desk- in pieces with all the seams covered (about 1/8" thick) in superglue, since it saw many hard years of playing, it even got thrown into a dirtpile for a "movie" (if you could call it that) I made around 11 years old. needless to say, she's in a pretty bad way. On the other hand, my new one is getting a completely scratchbuilt interior, as well as many other modifications, and is about 35-40% completed. Big difference in 3 years (that's about when i started actually caring what happened to my models), and I've only put out better than poor quality builds for about a year. Now, I've got a "best junior model" award under my belt, and there's no way I'm gonna slow down anytime soon!Do not feed the trolls [troll]Mischief [:-,]

Current Builds: If I were to list everything I have in progress, it'd take way too long! Some notable inclusions:

Hasegawa 1:48 KI-84

Tamiya 1:48 P-51D (in Iwo Jima long-range escort markings)

4 (yes, four) Tamiya 1:48 F4U-1s (1x -1D, 1x -1A, and 2x -1s)

While reading the “Completed models....get rid of 'em?” thread I started thinking that it would be cool to still have some of the models I built as a teenager still around to compare to the ones I’m building today. Unfortunately not a single model from my early days survived.

But what about some of you, do you still have some early examples lying about that you would be willing to post side-by-side with a current build?  I would if I had any, but like I said…

So come on, let’s see some old and new side-by-side!
