Big Smile [:D]Hey U-96!

Many thanks for sharing those photo's with the rest of us. Those Tornado's look great and I was especially pleased to see the Typhoon in RAF colours at long lastBig Smile [:D]Approve [^]

Due to work commitments I missed this year's air tattoo yet again. Hopefully, I'll make it in 2004Wink [;)].

Thanks again,

Darren.

upnorth, glad you picked up on the Mirage IV. I'd never seen one for real before, which is why I took the photo Big Smile [:D] Beautiful, massive plane.

This one was adapted for photo-recon. You can just about make out the camera windows in the opened bomb bay door. I guess they held a few back for this purpose, the same as us Brits hold onto our PR Canberras Wink [;)]

WOW!!!

Who'd have thought you could still see Mirage IVs at an airshow (or anywhere else these days) I thought the French had retired their entire fleet of them about 5 years ago.

German colour birds are always something to see wherever the show up too.

Thanks for sharing

It was just a model I'm afraid. There was also a cool 1:1 mock-up of the engine and lift fan next to it :)

However, I think it was the Typhoon's first airshow appearance in RAF livery, as opposed to the civilian BAe scheme we've become used to.

Hi U-96,

That's an X-32 on the 5th pic, right? Is that the real thing or just a mock-up.

Just asking...Wink [;)]

glad you like 'em

demon, the organisers at RIAT always try to pull off something unusual and photo-worthy each year, and it often involves a formation with the Red Arrows Wink [;)]

They used to do it with Concorde a fair bit, and it was pretty cool when the Eurofighter/Typhoon did it a few years back on its airshow debut.

I've always been surprised with the agility of the F117. Okay it's not an Extra 300, but for all its weird characteristics it seems to fly and turn pretty well.

Great pics of some truly amazing subjects! For some reason, I'm drawn to the Stealth flying in formation. Very cool shot.

Thanks for sharing!

Sorry they are are a bit late, but I thought these might go down well. Especially with those who like adventurous paint jobs [:0]
