Another great American passes on

General Raymond G. Davis passed away Wednesday morning at age 88. Gen. Davis was a MOH winner from the Korean War. Served in WWII at Guadalcanal and Peleliu, Korea and Vietnam. His awards include the Medal of Honor, Navy Cross, two Distinguished Service Medals, two Silver Stars, one Bronze Star, two Legion of Merits and the Purple Heart with 5 oak leaf clusters. Gen. Davis won his award leading his battalioin to rescue an isolated company of fellow Marines at Toktong pass during the Chosin Resevoir withdrawal, saving the survivors of the company and allowing the First Marine Divison to wilthdraw intact. Allthis took place in 40 below zero temperatures with a wind chill that brought it down to 75 below. Gen Davis had been the most decorated American military man since Audie Murphy. We lost a damn good man, gentlemen.
