Finger prints!!!
Posted by jinithith2 on Monday, December 4, 2006 8:21 PM

ok... so I just got back into modelling today and I totally forgot that liquid cement seeps out of the seams... so I have a huge fingerprint on the underside of my F-16 wing and I've polished most of it out with regular printer paper, but it still does not look quite right under a coat of sharpie.

share some of your techniques, and please please please tell me how to get rid of it!

 thanks much in advance :D

Paint it.  The fingerprint is etched into the surface of the plastic.  Get it is smooth as you can and then paint it with regular paint, or even better with some Mr. Surfacer.  Let it dry thoroughly, and then sand it down until the paint on the surface is gone.  Leave the paint in the etched part.  Might take a couple of coats but at some point the paint will fill the etched part and leave a smooth surface.

Take a look at what I use.  Bottom of the first section.  Works pretty good.
