Testors website has downloadable videos on some differnet techniques. Hopes this helps.

I've got several of Testors/PBS Adventures in Scale Modeling videos. You are right that they are rather basic.

I also have one that is geared towards sci-fi models and it was more advanced, not aimed at a beginner. I'll take a look at the boxtop tonight to see if there were additional modeling videos in this series but aimed at other genres.

Maybe I can help. Try video workbench. They are on the internet. They offer a series of videos on modeling, and have at least two covering plastic scale aircraft. I bought mine in 93, and was surprised to see that they are still in business. Mine covers the Mig 29

I remember those. They were extremely basic, good for beginners though. I was hoping for something a little more advanced. Thanks for the response.

It was PBS btw.

Several years ago, Testors sponsored a Saturday morning TV show (at least in our area) on building plastic kits of all types. Forgive my fickleness, but it may have been shown on PBS(?!?!). The videos were very well put together, but I kinda thought they were so-so in content quality, but then I didn't see all the episodes; there weren't but maybe 8-10 tops. Again, I'm operating off a very foggy memory. You might considering contacting the Testors Corporation, and finding out if they have copies of the tapes, or they may know how to get hold of them.

Not sure about plastics, but Ido know that several have been released for the fantasy miniature gender. I believe that they were put out by Reaper Miniatures, but I'm not positive. They may help a bit, especially for those hard to get right figures.

I bought a video a few years ago covering the construction of a wooden sailing ship and it was very informative. Is there anything out there like that for scale plastics?
