The Wonder that is Modeling
Posted by alumni72 on Monday, February 12, 2007 11:38 AM

Modeling is amazing, as are modelers.  If I do say so myself.  Big Smile [:D]

My wife had jaw surgery last week and her teeth are wired shut for several weeks.  This makes it hard for her to do many things we take for granted, including keeping her lips from drying and cracking (her tongue is trapped behind her teeth) and drinking from a straw (the straw can't get past her teeth, and with dry/cracked lips it is impossible to get a seal to generate any suction, anyway).

Well, we were trying to figure out how she could drink more easily than tipping her head back and dribbling juice into her mouth from a glass - and her mother suggested a turkey baster.  I know, but we were getting desperate.  Well, the old lightbulb lit up over my head and I left the room, returning a moment later with - a Testors pipette!  I was acclaimed a genius, since it is long and slender enough to fit along the side of her mouth and reach her back teeth so the juice, broth, whatever can seep through between her gums back there.

Is there anything a modeler can't do?!  Make a Toast [#toast]

When I broke my jaw the doctor left an "access" hole in my front teeth just large enough for a straw...to late to help you, but seems you've tackled the problem!

Don,  I know of a few husbands who would consider the wife having her jaws wired shut for a few weeks a blessing !  But seriously, I wish her a speedy and complete recovery from the surgery.  Paul.

Wirraway, your comment killed me man.

Hey, modelers can tackle just about anything. I know, becauese I have gone to my bench a hundred times for things other than modeling.

Were handy to have around.

If we can just convince our wives of this. Smile [:)]

I'm in the process of fixing the vacuum cleaner with my modeling skills. This should add a few more hundred dollars of justification kits to the closet.

Speedy recovery to your wife, Don.
