AMtech????
Posted by nebrnative on Thursday, March 15, 2007 5:32 PM
Just a quick question. What happened to AMtech??? Their website is off line and I have heard nothing about the C-135 series in 1/144? I am assuming the worst - - that they are gone. If you are thinking where has this guy been -- hiding under a rock. Well not too far off. I have been taking a small modelling rest with a 15 year break. But I have kept up in passing and I was really waiting for the AMtech series and would have bought more than one of each kit. I used to live off of the main runway at Offut AFB and really love the big birds.

Well, let's put it this way if your kits are unbuilt their value has recently doubled, due to the company now being defunct.

A while back I bought their Ju-88 S/T for around $21.00, and now since it is still in the box, not built, it is market-priced at $50.00 per Burns' Guide.

Back in '75 I bought a Hasegawa Emily for under $10.00 and now it is priced over $50.00 as well. That means I can sell it, go out and buy the new release by Hasegawa, and still have money in my pocket. Big Smile [:D]

Hey thanks for the info. That is what I suspected. Hopefully someone will pickup the C-135 series in 1/144. I really like the big boys, but the 1/72 require more space than I can afford in mass. Thanks again!!!!!
