Why does Revell-Germany come out with the newer Star Wars kits and the International Space Station and not Revell-USA?

I really wish I knew.  It kinda annoys me too.

Okay, to be fair, they are two seperately operated companies and sell to different markets, but it does get kind of frustrating especially with stuff like the Star Wars kits, which we know would sell well in America (at least I'd probably buy some) just don't get marketed here.  Some of it can't even be special ordered except via the internet.  Maybe our German brethern feel the same about Monogram kits they can't get in Europe.

Revell Germany got the license for Star Wars kits for distribution in Europe. AMT/Ertl got the license for Star Wars kits in the States. That's why we got almost identical Obi Wan and Anakin Jedi fighters from Revell Germany and AMT/Ertl. Slightly different scales and the AMT kit is a 3 in 1, but definitely different models altogether.

I think the Europeans wonder why we got the Droid Tank and they didn't.

So that's why AMT kits are almost impossible to find over here!

It's too bad because the last two models from the final movie were actually pretty good. We got a 3 in 1 kit of the Jedi Fighter and the Droid Tank that were better than the original MPC kits from the first 3 movies.

As of last year, they are totally separate companies with nothing in common except for the name Revell in their company.
