Taking the next step

Welcome back to the hobby. As stated above, i'd probably just tackle one or two at a time, at most, just so you can get back into practice. Hope to see some pics posted soon.

Thanks for the replies, I will take your advice onboard but may work on 2 as they are the same colour and will be weathered the same.

Pick one that you really want to finish and put the rest away.  Out of sight, out of mind.

Having 6 of them staring at you makes it seem like an impossible task, one is manageable.  It's like another form of performance anxiety.  It's the reason I have 2 kits in my stash and none on my table right now (I'm waiting on a refernce book to start my next kit).  If I have 10, 20 or 100 unbuilt kits staring at me, I'd probably never start one because I would just be overwhelmed at the thought of having to build the others. 

When you finish one, then take out another, but not before then.  Pretty soon, you'll be back up and running at full speed again.

I hear ya brother. After my divorce, I got out of the hobby for about 10 years and then came back about a year or so ago.

Its taking some time for me also but what has helped me to get back into the hobby that I know I love is to hang out in the forums, read magazines, books, reviews of the subjects you like and to become completely lost in the subject matter.

Start small though and try to do just one at a time. Its easy to get overwhelmed and then lose your motivation.

It's been a long time. I saw your name in an old thread, like many members who are no longer with us. I say the only way to get back into it, is to focus on one build at a time. If you work on all six, you will lose your vision and become overwhlemed. Seeing as you have a supportive girlfriend, you should be able to log on some time at the bench. And of course log on and post in the forums to get that excitement rolling. Welcome back.
