Pic's from Arizona model contest
Posted by Archangel Shooter on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 1:12 PM

Hi! Here's a few pic's I took of this past weekend IPMS contest held at the Mesa, AZ Holiday Inn which took place on 23-24 June.

Here's a few kits that I picked up to add to the stash for about $45 total

Got some nice shots.  Any of those belong to you?

I may get so drunk, I have to crawl home. But dammit, I'll crawl like a Marine.

Nah...was going to try putting something together for an entry but just didn't have the time. Did get the chance to check out some neat kits and see what the competetion is like. Will be ready for the next one though.

I too liked the U-boat wreck, guess it's because I'm working on one boat now with a second in the stash waiting to be built. Thought it was a neat way of showing off the hull without having to figure out how to do/make the water. My only comment to the wreck was I didn't notice any battle damage i.e. an hole or two to cause it to sink.

Cool.

Any commercial jets there? Those are allways lacking at contests I find.

That because it was a scuttled sub. Here, the sub was on patrol and snaped a propeller shaft and had other engine issues so  due to the sub being to far awayfrom a repair ortow vessal the captain was orderd to scuttle the sub and open all seavalves. Besisdes i builtit 3 years ago and didnt want deal with carving it upWink [;)]

Hi Smoking gun! So that was your boat? I thought that was a great ideal for displaying the sub. I had to leave before award ceremony so how did you do? I knew it caught a lot of eyes. Was the Gato yours too? I recalled your pic's of the Gato posted in the forum a few months back. That baby is huge!

That was a great boat! It definitely drew a lot of attention!

I also left before the awards banquet, so I don't know what all won what. Guess I'll have to find out in the next issue of the Corsair.
