Due to some recent home remodelling, I had to empty out my display cabinet and pack up my entire collection of completed models. This past weekend, with the remodelling completed, I re-stocked my cabinet and noticed quite a lot of the models are starting to age. Decals are starting to yellow; landing gear have been reglued countless times; my skills have improved since I built that kit; etc. I considered tossing some of models, some into the spare parts box and some into the trash. But some of the models hold very special memories for me. There's my first "expensive" Hasagawa F-4 Phantom with it's four color Vietnam camo paint job that I was so proud of. There's my first try at Bare metal on a F-84 Sabre. Here's the Star Trek USS Enterprise I spent dozens of hours masking and painting just to look right. My wife says toss 'em a build new ones. I admit, that's an exciting option but these old kits are my babies.
