My Trip to Japan; Tamiya; Rainbow10
Posted by knoxb on Monday, July 9, 2007 11:29 AM

I went to Tokyo, Japan for a business trip.  Stayed the weekend, and was able to use the FANTASTIC transportation system to get down to Shizuoka.  Taxi driver dropped me at Rainbow 10 hobby shop, and Tamiya RC track next door.  One guy said it was a 10 minute walk to Tamiya HQ.  It was about 90 degrees, and 80% humidity...did not feel like walking.  So when Rainbow 10 opened at 11 AM, I went in there first.  Bought a few items (sheets of camo decal for AFVs..very interesting), and as I was checking out, the 1 guy who spoke english told me it was quite a bit further than a 10 Min. walk to Tamiya, so he offered to drive me.  What a guy!!!

His name is Neow, or Nea..sorry did not get the spelling. He handles the email orders at Rainbow 10.  So he dropped me in the Tamiya HQ parking lot.  But it was closed.  He saw me stopped at the doors, came back into the parking lot, then offered to drive me back to the train station!!

So I should be upset that Tamiya was closed, but I feel my trip was not waisted at all, as I made a new friend with Neow.  He's a real gentleman, and I very much appreciate all his help.
