Now the Cubs have to face Florida. This will a lot harder as the Marlins are much better than the Braves. It could go either way.

The Marlins shouldn't pose much of a threat. All that matters now is that for the first time since 1908, the Cubs have won a postseason series! There is a God...

The guy who knows practically nothing about baseball (but lived near Chicago all his life) chimes in: The last World Series the Cubs won was in 1908, but they won their league and were in the 1945 Series, weren't they? That's always been a benchmark for my dad: He got into baseball that year, and he's been waiting for the Cubs to get into another World Series ever since. Note that he's not greedy; they don't have to win but just get in. Wink [;)]

They were in the Series in 45, but lost badly in game 7 against the Tigers. I , for one, would like to see the "Lovable Losers" win one. Getting there would be great, winning would be even better.

I'm normally an Orioles fan, but I'm unabashedly rooting for the Cubs!

Living in Florida, I don't know which way to go. I would like to see the Cubs get into the series, but I would also like to see Florida. Now matter how it turns out, for me it will be a win-win.

That's okay. The Astros had a massive late season meltdown. The Cubbies deserve the accolades and proper respect. How good is hard-throwing Texan Kerry Wood? What a rotation! Zambrano is nails. The line-up is explosive. But can they beat the Yanks? The answer is - NO!

Over and out.

There's still alot of ball to be played before the Cubs and Yanks have a chance to meet. Don't count the Sox out yet. They've got alot of heart, and a great team. I'm just enjoying the thrills of the post-season!

If it came down to the Sox and Cubs in the series, would that be one of the signs of armageddon? Game 7 would just never end I bet. Extra innings for months and months until people finally just give up and quit paying attention. What happens when two teams that are not allowed to win the Series, compete in it?

Sigh, too bad my Astros ran out of gas. Looks like the cheapo owner isn't going to keep Billy Wagner, due to money. It's hard to believe that he wants to win when he won't pay to keep a key element. He did the same thing to Nolan Ryan. Alas.

I hope the Cubs win.
