I saw two funny cartoons this week. One was in the paper and showed two devils standing in fire and smoke, both shivering. One said"It sure has turned cold lately". The other says,"The Cubs are in the playoffs".

The other was in a magazine. A mother is talking to her daughter just before the wedding. She tells her "To keep your husband out of the bars with his old buddies and away from you when you aren't in the mood, go out and buy him a plastic model kit. It'll keep him busy for several weeks".Smile [:)]

Those do sound pretty funny. Wish I could have seen them to save on my desk.

The model thing is especially true, unless they're on this forum, and then it could take severla months, just discussing how to do it. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

At least I won't have to say "Maybe next year" for awhile...

You are correct about that. I buy a new kit, take several weeks planning on how I want to build it, several weeks rounding up the parts to add to it, several weeks talking about it on the forum. By then I have bought another model and it starts all over again. I have a dozen or more in the planning stage and not a single part glued or painted. Ah, I love this hobby. Cool [8D]

I saw the first cartoon, can't remember the name though; was it "That's Life'? I like the second one, it's true isn't it? It takes me months to finish one.

Several weeks? Bloody hell - I haven't built a model in several weeks for many years. I remember doing a 1/12 scale Britten motorcycle that took about 14 months. It is perfect. I knocked back an offer of $700 (AUD) for it a couple of years ago. I guess it's the OCD thing...........Out of the box? NOOOOOOOOO!!!!

The first one was in the paper, sports section, daily cartoon called "In the bleachers". The second was in a magazine I was just thumbing through while waiting to pick up the Jeep from the body repair shop. I didn't get the name of the magazine.
