Modelling Events in British Columbia???

Hey Im a lower mainland modeller and I would really like to start going to some shows and maybe enter some of my work. Are there any other modellers in the same area who can help me out? Or is there maybe a directory where I can find where some events are being held near me? I tried googling local things but no luck. I almost feel like Im the only modeller in my town, at least still in high school. P.S. is this the right section to post this?
