Mates.. Never mind..
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, October 16, 2003 3:28 AM
-blocked pic..Sad [:(]-

Sorry people. Allegedly my humoristic photograph of a bomb disposal guy working on defusing a dud whilst his mate sneaks up behind him about to pop a paper bag was found to be offensive by someone at Lycos or where ever. This led to my account being shut down, killing all my pics in the process. Bear with me in the future, because I'll be having to resort to geocities and its uncooperative nature when it comes to displaying pics.

If by any chance it was anyone here who reported me, could the person at least email me about their motivation, and also have had the courtesy to approach me first before getting my account wiped. I am a very reasonable person and will respect anyones opinion. Now I'm not saying it was anyone who reported me. Chances are they just weren't happy I hadn't built a web site yet..

Ho-hum..
Keep smiling Smile [:)]

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. You've gotta love the beaurocracies. I think it would have been quite humorous.

I know some EOD folks and they enjoyed that photo more than most.
Vote with your feet and find another service provider.

Agreed; I saw the cartoon too and enjoyed it.

That's an awfully funny picture, it is a shame your site was shut down. Folks are just overly sensitive about so much these days. There isn't anything that wont offend sombody out there.

I've seen that pic too Mike and found it to be nothing but humourous.
Are you sure that's the reason they closed the account? If it is, someone is terribly thin-skinned.

That sux. That is a funny pic; this whole PC thing has gotten out of hand. Makes me wonder how long it will be until we won't be able to display a model with a swastika on it - like in some parts of Europe. (Even though the swastika is WAY older than Hitler)

As I stated above, it doesn't have to be a complaint, as they listed several other reasons (Angelfire) how sites get shut down. Other than not having a proper website there I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary.

The rules for a website are that unless there isn't a site there within 28 days, the account gets cancelled. Funny that. I've had the account for well over 2-3 months now. Awfully conveniant otherwise.

I dunno.. Its too late in the day to get all upset over trivial things like this.

Hi Michael i naver saw that pic but would like to. I am on freeserve and haven't had any trouble with them so they may be worth considering. i know that we have to be P.C on the pc(lousey pun intended) but a pic like that shouldn't have upset anyone.

Some jerkoffs take "political correctness" just a little bit too far..............
The first time I saw that photo, it was posted by a member of EOD!!! HE thought it was hilarious!!
Sorry someone tought your picture was offensive. They have obviously had a humour bypass.........

I & everyone I showed it to loved that picture. I read in a Brit newspaper the other day that kids at school are to be discouraged from using the terms Boyfriend & Girlfriend. That might upset certain people (apparently), no, from now on the term 'partner' must be used. So 11- 13 years olds have partners? can you see it in twenty years, a group of guy's in a bar, 'Hey, do you remember your first partner?' Is the whole world turning into California? Where do they recruit for the thought Police? I don't know, you spend fifty years on a planet & it all turns to s**t

Michael - I was sent that pic from a friend earlier. It has been one of my favorites. Sorry to hear that you were a victim of PC. Maybe has something to do with current world affairs and such. Anyway, appreciate the attempt to humour us all! Good luck with finding a new provider.

Michael,
I've seen that pic too. Not offensive. Just funny. I hope the spineless fool that reported you gets a dose of his own medicine. What kind of world are we creating for ourselves when you can't tell a joke about someone/something without upsetting an over-sensitive idiot who has time on their hands?

I've also seen the picture, and I can't imagine who would be offended by it. That's the whole trouble with this world, nobody can laugh at themselves anymore. They're WAY too quick to take offense.

Okay, I'll shut up now. Smile [:)]

One of the dept.s where I work have that photo hung up on the wall. The caption they put on it reads: The definition of an a##hole. Your right about the PC thugs though. I guess it won't change until we put our foot down and say enough is enough. It boogles the mind when you think of how often the government dictates what are action are to be. Too bad freedom and liberty can't be won by lip service.Disapprove [V]Evil [}:)]
