                        I am new to this forum and quit smoking last Jan. but a 7&7 and pretzels sure do make the modeling go easy!
                        Man these blades are sharp....... Where's this red stuff coming from????

                        The wife will occasionally make hot chocolate for me while I "slave away" at the kitchen table. Some popcorn also helps break the routine, but like others, I don't normally eat while modeling. It's hard enough doing one thing well.

                        Milk and a can of soup or mac and beef (which I eat out of the can with a spoon so no finger prints!) No alcohol, tobacco, or caffenine for me. For three goods reasons: I'm nineteen, I'm terrified of fire (burnt down a building a couple years ago on accident), and me and caffine are a scarey mix, I twitch like a Parkinsons pacient, I do a little anyway-electricution-not a good thing. Some times I go for chocolate if stressed, bored, happy, sad...I'm a woman so sue me[:-D].

                        Vanilla Coke in a brightly colored freezer mug. I have to remember to use coasters because I have all these little rings on my worktable from the condensation.

                        No food while I'm building. I will divide a Swisher Sweet and stuff it with that goodie. Build for a good spell and then have some pistachios or cashews or roasted, salted peanuts in the shell! Then pop the top on a cold one and admire my work!

                        Theres only 1 way to quit smoking and thats cold turkey....
                        However, the nicotine attacks can be devistating.
                        So heres what I did..everytime I wanted a smoke I made love to my wife instead.
                        Of course as soon as we were done, I'd want a ciggarette..so we'd make love again.
                        This vicious cycle would continue until I was to exhasted to smoke.Whistling [:-^]

                        well,i dont build my model for a long time,its about 6 minutes,and im done,bored,but im not working in the garage,im in my room,witch is boring,but if i do work long,i have to say, GUM and some sprite and coke,and also a toothpick

                        I just chew gum when building. I don't want greasy prints on my model. I usually don't smoke when I am building due to the possibality of a fire. I save that till after I finish. I do keep a cold Coca Cola to sip on when building.

                        Like many of you, I like a cold beer (Yeungling Lager, Yeungling Black and Tan, or Guinness Stoudt) when I model. I seldom eat, though, 'cause I'm afraid I'll get crumbs somehow embedded on the model.

                        Seems like we have quite a few smokers in the modeling community (myself NOT included!). Dead [xx(]

                        One thing concerns me: do you guys smoke while using all the highly flammable chemicals we use to build our beauties? Aren't you afraid of accidents?[:0]

                        Having brought this point up, is there anyone out there who ever "lit up" their hobby area when "lighting up?"

                        And what would Smoky the Bear have to say about all of this?Big Smile [:D]

                        Dont smoke here, but Im trying to switch from regular Mt. Dew to diet soda, and I think thats probably almost as hard as stopping smoking Clown [:o)]

                        I'm with ya' erush. I throw in a pinch of Copenhagen long cut when I am modelling. I used to do the stuff constantly when I was in the Army, but now I just do it when I'm working in the yard or garage, or building models. Don't know why, but if I try to build a model without a dip in, it just feels weird.

                        Quitin' would be nice though, but like many here have said, you can't quit until you are ready.

                        A proper, good strong mug of tetleys tea with all the trimmings (milk, enough sugar) and a hundredweight of M&M's or dutch liquorish. Don't smoke or drink all that much, which is strange, because my mum's an Irish chain smoker.. Oh, and despite being in Holland, I, like the rest of the locals, prefer to leave the herbal stuff this countries famous for to all the tourists.

                        I like some fruit juice and occasionaly, a good glass of wine. I do not snack much as I often work with 'white metal' and can not be bothered to clean my hands each time I want a bite!

                        It has been almost four years since i had my last ciggy, i was up to 4 packs a day.......... i did it cold turkey also ......... all those gums and other programs just give a false sense of reality............ and the reality is quiting smoking is hard, but if you are determined, there isn't anyone in this world who can't do it!!!! You have to WANT to quit!!!
                        Ok, now that the public anouncement is over ,LOL, a bottle of Corona and some slim jims do it for me..... and if i'min a long session, then i break out the fryer for some wings and fried veggies!!!!!! and some fried Oreos!!!!!!

                        I'd never really thought about it, but Planters Dry Roasted Peanuts and Jim Beam with Coke are probably the best snack there is..........but then again, after a few glasses, the desire to NOT screw up overcomes my desire to "get on with the build" and I take a break until the effects of "Jim" goes away.............

                        Don't usually snack while modeling, but a can of cold Pepsi is mandatory. Usually I'll take a 15-20 min break when I just finished a section (cockpit, weapons, etc..) and want to grab a few minutes of reality. I still smoke, so after 3 hours of concentration, i need that little moment of "me time".
