Hi, Alexander,
Yes,I really do like Poland. I have a beautiful Polish girl at my side. I have visited many parts of the country and am amazed at the friendliness and warmth of the people. It has it's problems but who doesn't. In spite of everything the Polish spirit is still strong and the country can only go on to greater things.
I only hope that Polands beautiful counrtyside and wildlife doesn't suffer when we join the E.U. next year.

Jim,
The oddity of it all is that for legal reasons at the time, very few of those types of camps were actually located or built within the geographical borders of Germany. I know a lot of Germans and Austrians, and the guilt and horror of what transpired 60 years ago is as strong in them as it is in you or I, but in truth, they can't be expected to shoulder the blame for something that happened before they were born
These museums and displays of man's bestial behaviour must be preserved so all current and future generations can look at them and realise that absolutely nothing good can ever come from a mind and heart filled with fear and hate.
We must remember that and teach our children accordingly.
Cheers

I don't really know if this is ironic, sad, funny or just the way the World turns. One of the best model shops in Warsaw is on a little street called UL Dzielna. It is run by a german guy.Nothing strange there you may think. AH... across the road are the remains,One perimeter wall, some fencing and a blasted tree. All that remains of the PAWIAK Prison. This was the main interrogation centre for the Gestapo in Poland. At least 75,000 Poles died within it's walls. They blew it up before the reds came but the basement is now a museum with cells left as they were.Prisoners letters, poems and possessions on display. The torture rooms with meat hooks etc is not a place to linger believe me. The dead tree by the way is covered in faded photos that are reprinted when they begin to fade to much.
That poor guy is either very thick skinned or he sleeps very well at night. IT is a strange world indeed.Question [?]
