LHS Lost and Found
Posted by ski4jeepin on Monday, February 4, 2008 5:13 PM
Can somebody in the Topeka area help me with this one? There used to be a hobby shop named Fun For All Hobbies on Gage Blvd. at 21 St. (formerly Mr. Bart's Hobbies a looong time ago). I was told it was open just before Christmas but this week I stopped by and it was gone. No sign on the windows, not even shelves inside, just *poof*! I moved away from Topeka several years ago, but I stopped by this shop every chance I got. Sad to see another LHS go the way of the dinosaur. Boohoo [BH]

Yeah....too bad. Had they moved just recently there would probably be a sign telling of a new location. Must have gone under. Sorry, Man

It was rather quick - I hadn't been out there for a month or so (I work for the NG in Topeka as a civilian tech) and I found it just like you found it.  From what I understand the Mall got a new owner and he raised everyones rent.  Couple of other shops apparently left at the same time.  I heard that Joe had (a) decided to retire or (b) going to open another shop w/in 6 mo to a year if he could find a location (depending on who you talked to).  I assume Sean is still selling on Ebay.

Thanks qmiester. I'm hoping it's option "B"! A bit off topic, speaking of NG, I just recently bought a set of decals for the 190th ARW KC-135. All the years I spent watching them fly around, it'll be neat to have one sitting on my shelf.
