Buyer Beware
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, October 26, 2003 9:39 PM
A word of caution to those of you looking for resin accessories from ebay. I bought what was listed as original Paragon S-3 wingfolds, and instead got cheap copies. I was able to compare with another modeler who had the originals and clearly mine are copies. Quality is diminished, of course, and I paid top dollar for what I thought were originals.
I'm always wary of getting ripped off with online purchases, and this was the first time it's happened to me. First time for everything. I've learned my lesson and will be more careful. Just passing along my experiences.

Yes, I left a neg feedback, as did another buyer who got the same deal as I did. It's not hard to find out who's selling this copy on eBay: it's basically the only guy selling S-3 wingfolds, I don't think I should mention names/handles. Can't vouch about other items he's selling, but this seems to be his track record. Scammer.

Ebay can use a lot of improvement. To start off, their feedback system sucks! I mean, many people are afraid to leave a negative feedback because of fear of revenge. The other party can leave an undeserving negative feedback to you just for revenge! gosh...

I know, because I've bought like 7 items so far and none of the sellers left me a feedback unless I leave a positive for THEM first. It's so shallow...

maybe ebay should start behaving more responsibly like having a bad seller clause, that could lead to pressing legal action against that person. In any case an auction has a legal binding that the goods delivered should be just that. better use an escrow service next time.
