Cool idea, i usually cut the planes off my box tops and tack them to my cork board.

Gerald! Nice space you have there! Thanks very much for the photo spread.

Mine is.....'coming along', but I have lots of space in the basement, with the paint booth situated directly below a cellar window. Perfect! I am also going to follow your lead with the box art.

Our basement stays nice and cool in the summer and I've already run the cables for clone monitor, keyboard and speakers (bench is directly below my bedroom)....as for a bathroom....I can step out a door into the back yard....very private!

Oh, for next winter.....I came by some 10 mil plastic sheeting from a jobsite and will curtain off the area and stay comfy with a single oil-filled electric heater!

Thanks again for the ideas!

Great idea for re-using the box art. I'll have to give that one a try.

I am envious of your "Man Space.' Is that your Beer Frig. off to the side?

The large, private bathroom is a Must Have in any "Man Space!" Big Smile [:D]   It makes my 12x10 spare bedroom / model room / "Man Cave" look pathetic!

Seriously though, its a really nice set up! You should be proud!

I have a man space of about 1000 sqft. It includes a large bathroom,

a guest bedroom,

a library

and a large living area.

My workshop is still yet another room off of this "ManSpace". Guests who stay with us get to have their own "suite" with an aviation theme. The space is used several times a year to host our model club for special events, social gatherings for family and friends as well as a place to just relax.

The other purpose for the appliques is kids...they love airplanes too and they are much safer and less risk of being damaged. I've cut out some of the smaller ones on the sides of the boxes as well. I glued a magnet on the back and the grandkids love to stick them on the refrigerator and play with them. We have a collection of those novelty or promo magnetics companies use as giveaways, they come in the shapes of trucks, cars, houses which the kids play with for hours playing make believe.

....but it is one of the coolest hobby rooms I've ever seen! A nice break from modeling when you cut those pics out.

But.......I thought your workshop was in your basement? Is this simply your major model display area?Laugh [(-D]

I've got a few model kit boxes on the was as decor, but I've come up with an even better idea at least I think so.

I cut out the aircraft from the box top and hang them on the walls with a little BluTac or other similar reuseable removable adhesive.

They even work well with models too!

So think twice before tossing those kit lids.
