Or start using Tom's of Maine toothpaste—it comes in a coated aluminum tube. Just don't roll the tube as you use it. When it's empty, open it up, clean it out, and you have a sheet of pre-primed alumimum that will do everything lead foil will do, cheaper, and a LOT more healthy.

Certain brands of wine still use a lead like foil. Each bottle has about a 2 by three inch piece of foil. I think Italian and Australian and at least one French brands are more likely to use this.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

I saw where Verlinden has apparently discontinued their packaging of lead foil, but Techstar seems to still be producing theirs. It may just be a shortage as Rob said.

If price is no option, you can get a 14" wide, 20 foot long roll of .016" lead foil online for only $129.00...you could repackage it in modeling sizes and make a small fortune.

There's probably a severe shortage of lead foil. Recently, the TV show Mythbusters, did a piece on the old phrase "floats like a lead balloon." The crafted a huge lead balloon out of huge sheets of lead oragami style. It actually flew.

It looks like they used enough rolls of lead foil to supply every model builder in the country with enough to last them each a lifetime.

Lead Foil discontinued?

NONE of the online stores can get it anymore. Is there something going on? Did they discover it will make you grow a third eye in the state of California? Disapprove [V]

Anyway, any suggestions where else I may get it? Any other aftermarket kits have it included in the kit? Anyone have some to sell? Need it about .016 thick.

Thanks for the help,

Andy
