wow 75 allowed demerits, that must be quite the system, here in SK, we are allowed 9. I also failed the first time, I got 17 demerits, I didn't pull close enough to the curb before I made my right turns. 3 times I did that. they were worth 5 dem. ea.I tried to get in to do it again early (because I needed it for my summer job: harvest) but the examiner wasn't in the area for a couple weeks. the next time I had a perfect score until the last intersection-I stopped in the crosswalk.

Smith M:
Sorry I didn't see this until now or I could have whipped into Sherwood Park to get you. We are planning another get together after Christmas so I'm sure by then you'll be behind the wheel.

Dave may be prescient; the roads were not good today.

Tigerman:
Up here we have several isolated communities, primarily in the northwest territories, where they only send a guy around once a year or so to do licensing. The rest of the time people of all ages just drive ... Recently an examiner showed up in one of these towns and they couldn't find a vehicle that was legal to use in the tests! (Eventually they got one going with all lights etc. operational.)

Before anyone gets too worried, these licenses are only good in the community they are issued in; no roads in or out anyway.

When I was 16 and trying to get my first license (1978). I failed the test the first time too. Darn van was parked in front of a stop sign in an unfamilar residential area.Sad [:(] Went back a month later and didn't have a problem. Oh, and now I drive a Semi truck for a living. So it happens to the best of us.Thumbs Up [tup]

i don't know what the Canadian test is like, but if my sister can pass the American test, than anyone can. Black Eye [B)] I'm sure it was one of those days and you'll pass with flying colors next time. Chin up.

Very true.

Its's also possible the person who was testing you was having a bad day and was being picky.

Sorry to hear you didn't pass the exam. It happens to a lot of people the first time out, usually a case of nerves rather than being a bad driver.

Is there a way you can get into Edmonton tomorrow A.M. Bruce said he'd give you a ride if you could get into town. Hopefully you can work something out and make it tomorrow. The more the merrier !!!!

Where do you live? Phew...safe for a couple of weeks. Tongue [:P]Wink [;)]

Just kidding...I know it's fustrating. Don't get discouraged, Mid-November is only two weeks ago.

I believe there's a reason stuff happens the way it does. Maybe you weren't meant to be out there driving tomorrow.

Sorry to hear that, Smith.

If it's any consolation, I failed my CDL the first time I took it, too. Luckily, they let you take it twice in the same day here, so I passed it 10 minutes later. Kinda bites not being able to get your license yet, but have faith, young warrior. Next time, you shall prevail!

This is awful, I actually failed my driving test. I got 80/75 allowed demerits. With the way registration is for driving tests, I wont be able to try again untill mid-november. This means I won't be able to get myself to the Meeting tomorrow.
