Ball State huh Cassibill? I'm only 13 mi. east of there,Albany. Gupta is a nice little hobby store in Muncie, although I do most model shopping here, there is something to be said about going to a real store.

Nwilliams. It don't work that way. About four years ago I mailed off my subscription along with a check. I continued to get my magazine plus a renewal notice in the mail. I assumed the paperwork had not cought up with the check so I didn't pay any attention to it. At that time, I had also left my check book on top of my car overnight and it rained. There was no way I could balance it out so I quess-a-mated my balance and went from there.Censored [censored]

After six months my magazine stopped arriving. Confused [%-)]I called FSM and found out they had not received the check. I paid by credit card over the phone and they sent me the missing issue.

A year later my Son gave me a one year subscription for my birthday. I started getting two issues a month. Took some calling to get that straightned out.

OBTW, got mine in the mail today. One issue.Big Smile [:D]

I'm with berny13 and claymore, mine usually arrives at my house after it hits the news stands and hobby shop. Just about the time I quit expecting it to show up and forget about it, it arrives. It always brings a smile to my face to see it in the mailbox.

I just payed my renewal and was wondering...I haven't paid a bill to Hot Rod Magazine or Rod and Custom Magazine for the last three years but the magazines keep showing up. I have had friends who also quit paying for subscriptions and the magazine shows up anyway. I wonder if this would work with FSM.Tongue [:P]

Sorry Bruce, my comment wasn't directed to you. Oops [oops] I guess my point is the people that pay for a suscription expect a little more besides the delivery to the mailbox. I think of it as a commitment of sorts. A show of loyalty if you will. I guess I expect a little more. It kinda frustrates me to see the magazine in the store a week or so before I get mine mine in the mail. I see your point, living in Canada and all. I meant no disregard to the casual buyer of the mag. Ashamed [*^_^*] I used to do it with MMIR, since they ran at about $10 a copy.

If the cherry picker comment was meant for me, fair enough & no problem. Funny but I feel no disloyalty to the magazine for cancelling. I felt I was being overcharged by paying in US funds and then an added premium on top. Simply put, up here the cover price is cheaper off the rack.

My only gripe is that the stores seem to get their issues before US the subscribers. Disapprove [V] This seems wrong. We subscribers are considered the loyal customers, but the magazine is catered to the casual cherry pickers. Disapprove [V]Angry [:(!] I love the magazine and wouldn't drop it over something like this, but I know from being in the newspaper business, that you treat your best customers like kings. This is how you get happy repeat customers. My 2 cents [2c]

Got it yesterday,& did you read the Tips section where the guy from Tenn. uses Kit-Kat foil in place of BMF? No adhesive needed! Peel off the wax paper & apply to model, what could be easier,or more delicious? As a new modeler,FSM delivers more than it costs.

Wow I'm special Cool [8D]then that I get mine earlyTongue [:P]. I'm picking up a couple tickets to Best Little Whore House in Texas and have to call home anyway maybe I'll find out if it came.

Yeah rossjr FSM is great for trips. I read mine on the 2hr drive back up to campus. It and crossstich is the only thing I can do in the car and not get sick, other than sleeping.

I've only seen FSM on the store shelves once, 4-99, cause I bought it and subscribed starting 7-99. It was either Walmart or Jaycee's grocery. Never seen it since though Walmart does carry Model Railroader. Odd.

Haven't yet seen the December copy - I usually get them a little after the rest of the world - seems the post to Australia goes via slow steam packet, camel, then water buffalo, then is processed by a dyslexic grade school drop out.
I do eventually get the mag, though........

I stopped subscribing several months ago at renewal time when I figured out it was cheaper to buy off the newsstand rather than pay the premuim as well as the exchange for Canadaian orders. Now I can browse the issues and cherry pick the ones I want to take home.

I got mine today as well, just at about the normal time frame. I don't worry about when I get it, just so long as I do.
