Kudos to Revell: Great customer service...
Posted by Lufbery on Monday, November 3, 2003 1:41 PM
Hi all,

I just thought I'd post a quick message praising Revell-Monogram's customer service.

I needed two replacement parts for my 1/72 Tomcat model, so I went to the R-M website, ordered the parts using their form (there's a small fee associated with this service), and figured I needed to wait the 10-20 days mentioned on their site. Instead, I got the pieces I needed in five days!

Regards,

Great to hear! Unfortunately I dont agree with the fees the companies are using...but I guess its nessescary. I have yet to order my replacement part I need for my P51 but after reading this I think I will this week. Just wish I didnt have to pay for something that wasnt even molded on! LOL

Drew:
Nice to hear some positive feedback. We are often quick to hurl the slag and so it is nice to see some kudos going out.
My son has also had good service from them, he expected top pay for parts he had messed up during assembly but they replaced them at no charge.

Contact them directly (phone). They will probably send you the part for free. I had a bad chrome job on my Corvette's aircleaner and they sent me a new one in less than a week for free.

I bought a Revell-Monogram Me 110 and one whole sprue was missing. I called the phone number on the box, one week later I had the sprue in the mail. No Charge.

I was wondering why you had to pay. The bottom fuselage of my F18 Blue Angels was warped and cracked and something else was broke(hor. stab.'s, maybe, been a while), plus the decals had been torn. I call the toll-free number and gave them the kit's name and # & the part #s and asked for decals. I got it in less than a week and the new decals matched the yellow better then the old ones did any way.

Ah, so maybe I should have called. Maybe I could have avoided the charge. Oh well. I'm still happy about the speed of the service, and I thought the fee was very minimal.

Luckily I have never had a part in a kit that was beyond repair but it is nice to know that RM is so efficient should I ever need one.

By the way, the small fee I mentioned was $3: that was for two parts and shipping. Free would have been nicer, but $3 isn't bad. :D
