Gallery Maintainence has begun!
Posted by RonUSMC on Tuesday, November 11, 2003 12:57 AM
The first step is complete. Streamlining the albums. I moved all the photos to their parent albums and deleted a ton of empty albums. The thing isnt timing out anymore, and its a little bit faster. Working good.

I cannot stress this enough. If you had your photos up in the gallery, PLEASE go and check. Make sure they are still there and notice the new location of them.

Instead of Armor : Redleg's: Redleg's M1... they are all in Armor now. It keeps the amount of albums down, and makes the system perform faster.

Second step is going to be an approval and moving step. There are over 300 pictures in the UPLOAD HERE album, and they need to be moved. Approving them for permanent placement in the gallery and then moving them where they need to be.

I think Dvoss is going to help me with this step, I moved about 30 earlier today with a ton more to go.

Yup, new logon and password. Look at the end of that gallery thread.. but its newfsm or something like that.

Also... you can ONLY upload into the UPLOADHERE album, nowhere else.

I must be doing something wrong, cause I can't get logged in. It keeps kicking me back with invalid username/password. Anyway thanks for the site Ron.

Looks like someone upgraded the Gallery. Smile [:)]

You sure were busy tonight. Earlier there were 350+ images in the upload folder and now there are 278 images. Awesome! Smile [:)]

I found the email with the login information. Great password by the way. Wink [;)] I wasn't able to do much so I had to use the other one. I managed to move maybe a dozen images before the list of albums (to move the images to) stopped appearing. Visiting just now, I saw the upgrade, logged in but can't get into the upload album. I keep getting "Cannot find server or DNS Error". It might be a matter of trying again tomorrow -- maybe it's some flaky DNS server or who knows. I'll try again tomorrow.

It wasnt enough. The list of albums kept timing out.

I started looking through the FTP. People have uploaded 70+ pictures of the same model in different poses. Other images were over 2mb in size.

I deleted the aircraft folder, the armor folder, and the upload folder. We are just going to start fresh. I didnt want to pick and choose on which ones to keep or not, so Ill just be fair and delete all of them.

The new user and pass should work, but Im not sure exactly what else I can do except delete everything else and try... the album list is still giving me problems.
