Scott Tyner
Pearland, Texas

After returning home from a deployment to Iraq, Scott put aside his World War II aircraft models and tackled a project inspired by his service overseas. He modified Verlinden's 120mm 101st Airborne figure by replacing the head with one from his spares box and sanding off vest detail. He loaded the figure with detail made from strip styrene, such as Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment (MOLLE) straps, a Kevlar collar, and a throat protector. Scott says the radio headset cord was made from copper wiring -- "Actual IED wire I found in the country.'" The base and wall are from Airborne Miniatures.
