Stephen A. Wellman
Ellenton, Florida

Having tired of Corsairs after building his fifth, Stephen decided he’d like another Moonbus like the Aurora model he built in 1969 – but, having become highly collectible, it was too expensive. Realizing Revell’s 1/35 scale TPZ-1 armored personnel vehicle was of a similar shape (“similar, not exactly,” he says), he set out on a conversion/kitbashing/scratchbuilding project that involved parts from several helicopters, a Revell 1/72 scale Space Shuttle, Academy’s 1/350 scale Titanic, and Revell’s 1/32 scale F-4 and Tornado. “Do not ever throw away spare parts,” he says.
