“After nearly 20 years, I got the bug to build a
tank model again,” Dan says. He got Dragon’s 1/35 scale T-34/76 and started
getting diorama ideas. “I decided on adding a German Elefant (from Italeri) because,
while it wasn’t very successful, it sure was impressive.” He surrounded both
vehicles with Tamiya Soviet infantry; Woodland Scenics provided the greenery.
Burnt umber artist’s oils, ground-pastel mud, and Rustall served for grit and
grime.
