Neil was inspired by the December 2009 FSM article on building Moebius’ 1/8 scale Invisible Man but surprised by what came out of the box. He says, “I hadn’t really thought ahead, and I was not prepared for how huge it is! I built subassemblies similar to the article, and painted most parts with whatever Tamiya aerosols were handy. The plaid waistcoat was airbrushed with Tamiya acrylics and lots of careful masking. Oil washes and dry-brushing followed, but, given the size of the kit, some of the usual paint effects weren’t needed – they occur naturally. Final assembly required the overcoat to be pried open – very scary – but the figure popped together securely without cement.”
