Pete dressed up Trumpeter’s 1/35 scale LST with barrel sets
from Tamiya. The base was scrap pine clear-coated with Spar varnish; the boat is
held to the base with magnets so he can remove it for transport. “I numbered it
48, as I was born in 1948 – a concession to my own vanity, a sort of
signature,” he says. “The model took first in its category at GraniteCon 2009
here in New Hampshire and was my first first-place winner.”
