“This thing
is huge!” Kenneth says of Moebius’ 1/35 scale Jupiter II from the 1960s TV series “Lost in Space.” He
modified the interior, adding beams and extra rooms and adding a missing
airlock and ramp. He also scratchbuilt a launch cradle and service towers from
styrene sheet, strip, and tubing. “The tower with the elevator is completely
speculative, since it was never shown in the series,” he says. The jeep is a
reworked Testors model with custom decals; modified Tamiya military figures man
the base. “This is the model I dreamed of having when I was a kid,” Kenneth
says. “Now I just have to figure out where to put it.”
