Chester Mohn
New Cumberland, Pennsylvania

The Soviet Aerosan was a two-man combat snowmobile driven by a 5-cylinder aircraft engine and propeller. Of AMG’s 1/35 scale NKL-26, Chester says, “This rare kit came with photoetched- and white-metal parts. The engine alone is 50 pieces!” He added wire pushrods, handmade springs, and plundered his spare parts for pioneer tools. He got around the kit’s lack of a spare prop by using a clear disc to represent a spinning prop and stowing the spare on the side as seen in photos. He also added an instrument panel and a steering yoke, although, he says, “I had to wing it, as I found no pictures of the interior.”
