“Bandai sells Gundam kits in different grades,” Brian writes. “Master Grade is a hobby-level kit, complete with an inner frame, removable armor bits, many details, and lots of articulation. This model was my first Master Grade kit. The original kit was called the MSM-03 Gogg and was based on the design of a giant robot from a popular anime series.
I added the numerous rivets and extra armor plates to make the mobile suit look like it was from World War II. I was inspired by a sub-genre of science fiction called ‘Weird War II,’ an alternate universe where paranormal and technologically advanced elements come into play during the Second Great War. I used the German U-boat U-47 as a guide for the paint scheme.”
