Joe’s local modeling club, IPMS/Delaware Valley Scale Modelers, held a themed contest called "Never Was! Couldn't Be!" So, Joe combined Revell’s 1/25 scale 1966 Chevy El Camino pickup bed and chassis with AMT’s 1/25 scale 2009 Chevy Corvette coupe (for the body, front and rear bumper, and interior). He modified the wheel wells with putty and smoothed the body, “with lots of epoxy putty,” he says. He sprayed his creation with Testors flat red inside and ruby red metallic outside.
