Three models in three scales provided a forced
perspective in a scene Ken calls, "Destroy the Yamato!" Blurry in the foreground at the start of a dive is a
1/72 scale Curtiss SB2C Helldiver that Ken modified by opening the dive flaps,
adding Hobbymaster crew, and mounting a PropBlur propeller. The SB2C below is a
1/700 scale Helldiver from Trumpeter. The Yamato
is a prepainted 1/2400 scale model from F-Toys. For the water, Ken used extra thick
matte medium colored with Model Master Acryl dark sea blue. “This was my first
attempt at a diorama,” Ken says. “It may not be perfect, but I learned a lot
and it turned out kind of neat.”
